Presidents Message

Fellow Lions,

Greetings fellow Lions and special greetings to the new and nearly new Lions in our club. Thank you to everyone who worked at the white cane sale. It takes all of us to cover that much real estate! I know the weather didn’t cooperate on Thursday. Everyone was too cold to roll down their windows and donate but it was made up for by a nice Friday and Saturday. Lion Ric did a great job coordinating this year’s event. A big thank you to him for that. We will have a report on the results at the November meeting so be sure you have turned in all of your donations so that all of the money can be counted. Additional thanks go out to Lion Jeff D. for hauling the signs around town and Lion Bill A. for arranging to have the Buckeye Hall of Fame Café as a fundraising location.

Our membership meeting was a big success. Everyone really did their best to show off the club to the prospects. Be sure to follow up with anyone you invited who couldn’t come to that meeting. We are always happy to have guests anytime! For this event all of the credit goes to Lion John for planning and pulling it off. Special Thanks to Lion Jeff B. and Lion Brian for being speakers. How much fin it was to have such a full room! Imagine what it would be like if every meeting was that full.

Everyone should be sure to wear their name badges at the meetings and greet our new Lion Rugy and the other Lions that will be inducted at future meetings. We want these new members to feel welcome, have them get to know us and to get to know them. The December meeting will be our Holiday party. We have invited the Branch and Noon Clubs to join us in one big event. Remember spouses will be invited. We are working with the Buckeye Hall of Fame to put together a special menu and Lion Carol has some nice things planned for the party already!

Upcoming service events include volunteering at the 2007 "Deck The Halls" Tour of Homes on November 29th to benefit the Central Ohio Diabetes Assoc. (see Lion Judy for information) and bell ringing for the Salvation Army in December (signups will be coming soon).
